From childhood, I've been writing in one form or another. Starting with poems, stories, and even a magazine as a junior high English project, I now write in whatever form I like.
Happy Holidays everyone! Isn’t this picture of my grandson just adorable? He is older now, this being his second holiday season, and I want to be sure all his toys are safe for him to be playing with. I also don’t want to have to pay top dollar for everything.
I recently received an email from Kay over at ConsumerSafety.org, who asked if I could share an infographic with you. I agreed because I know all parents want their children to be safe, and have decided to share some of my own tips as well.
I don’t know about you, but for me crafting is a way to de-stress. Creating melts away any negative feelings, allowing me to relax and enjoy what I’m doing. It also is a good way to acquire gifts and decorations, as well as home decor.
When the Sharpie team contacted me about coming up with projects for my wrapping needs, I was already thinking about projects for the holiday season. I was excited to try my hand at more creative, decorative wrapping projects, and one of the projects I decided on was tag ornaments for the Yule and Christmas gifts I’m giving this.
Okay everyone, it’s time to get crafty for the holidays.
The Sharpie team recently contacted me, wondering if I wanted to get crafty while using the Sharpie Extreme markers and I, of course, said yes! I love doing crafts, and had just begun to think about what I was going to do for Yule and Christmas. Yup, we celebrate two holidays, and both are very important.
I decided on wrapping ideas and ornaments (coming soon!) for my projects of choice, and the following are the ideas I came up with on the wrapping front.
As part of my Mini At-Home Spa Moments series, I’d like to share with you a relaxing way to end your day. The Mini At-Home Spa Moments are affordable luxuries for the frugally minded.
1. Shower or bathe using a pleasantly scented body wash, such as one from the Softsoap Luminous Oils line. My favorite is the Macadamia Oil & Peony, which I reviewed...
Mini At-Home Spa Moments are wonderfully luxurious ways to relax after a long week. Keeping these spa moments frugal is important. We don’t want to break the bank or anything, but we do want to feel pampered.
I do this one during the evening hours, when I know I’ll be reading or watching television the rest of the night. That way I’ll be relaxing when I’m done, not having anything else to worry about or have to do before bed.
This one is simple, yet effective. For a frugal afternoon pick-me-up after a long day on your feet, simply rub lotion on them.
You’ll want to choose a lotion with a cooling effect and a pleasing scent. Perhaps a minty scent. Peppermint works particularly well.
I bought this nifty tool called a callus remover, that I use to remove rough patches from my feet. I walk a lot, and am sometimes standing and running around quite a bit at work. My feet really need some pampering some weeks.
This Mini At-Home Spa Moment will leave your hair feeling light and healthy, without taking a lot of time. I received a 6 ounce bottle Neutrogena Shampoo Anti-Residue Formula last year as part of my membership with BzzAgent. (I no longer use BzzAgent.) It is a clear shampoo that removes a lot of the buildup caused by regular shampoos and conditioners, as well as styling products.
I was a mom before I ever hit my 20’s, and we did not have much money. I don’t regret that time of my life in the least, but I have learned a few things all young adults should know.
My daughters are now in their mid 20’s. Both have been known to hold down two jobs at once, and they know how to stretch a dollar. One has told me on a couple of occasions that adulting is not fun. She is right, in a way. You have to work at having a good life, and this usually begins in the young adult years. It can be rough, trying to make ends meet, even at my age.
